           ORGANIZATIONS OF INSTITUTIONS

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
      ThePresident is the Chief Executive Officer of the institution. He is the educational leader ultimately responsible
for all activities of the institution.

DUTIES :
                  
    THE PRESIDENT

1.Plans the over-all direction of the institution in coordination with the Vice President, School Treasurer, Department Deans, and the Elementary and High School Principal;

 

2.Provides effective and stimulates educational leadership to the staff, faculty and students;
 

3.Approves appointment of all employees and administrators and sees to it that the determination of their duties and salaries are within the limits set by the institution;
 

4.Sees that all fundamental policies are implemented;
 

5.Acts as the official representative of the institution in the signing of all legal documents and in appearances at public functions;
 

6.Directs the work of the institution in the such a manner that its goals and objectives are best served and realized;
 

7.Sees to it that the school maintains a good working relationship with other institutions and with the general public;
 

8.Acts as chairman in the evaluation of administrators and employees.
 

9.Approves promotion of personnel; and

10.Confers academic degrees.


         Vice President for Administration

The Administrative Vice President assists the President in the implementation of all the policies and programs of the institution in the non-academic sectors.

As Chief Administrative Officer, the Administrative Vice President supervises the plans and coordinates the operation of the administrative units. He also provides the necessary support to the academic sector in pursuing the objectives of the institution.

DUTIES:

1.Plan, organize, administer and direct the activities relative to employment practices, employees benefits and matters related to Labor Laws and their implementation.
2.Develop and recommend administrative policies or programs;
3.Ensure that unit administrators observe and implement the institutional policies and programs affecting their unit;
4.Undertake the physical development program of the institution in consultation with the President and supervise the use of the physical facilities and properties of the institution;
5.Supervise the overall management of the of the campus security, physical plant, student services and safety committee; and
6.Perform other related functions as maybe delegated by the President

  Job relationship:

  Reports to the President

President’s Council

  The President’s Council is the main advisory body of the President on all decisions involving administration and academic affairs. It is composed of the President as Chairman, the Vice President, the Department Deans, the High School and Elementary Principal, and the School Treasurer.

 

   

    The  main function of the Council is to advise the President, to maintain good communication among the top administrative officers of SMIT and to foster close cooperation in achieving the purposes and objectives of the institution.


 

                         DEPARTMENT DEANS

The department Dean is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Department and his major responsibility is to supervise and direct the educational activities of the college for the achievement of the mission statement and objectives of the institution. He is directly responsible to the President.

  The Department Dean has the over-all authority over the following areas of school departments:

  a) internal organizations and operations;

    b) academic programs;

    c) teaching personnel;

    d) student development.

             PRINCIPAL

The Principal is the Chief Executive of the department heads. His major responsibility is to supervise and direct the educational activities of his department for the achievement of the mission statement and objectives of the institution. He is appointed by the President.

  The principal is directly responsible to the President.

                     REGISTRAR
The College Registrar plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and controls activities involving student registration, transfer, evaluation, graduation, and the maintenance and safekeeping of student records. He is directly responsible to the President.
